Available starting Fall 2026! Students pursuing an Area of Emphasis in AI will also earn a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. However, since some courses are not required under this track, the degree will not be accredited by ABET. Specific Requirements: Students must complete the following three courses: CSCI 3360 - Data Science and Applied Machine Learning ICSCI 4360/6360 - Data Science and Applied Machine Learning IICSCI(PHIL) 4550/6550 - Artificial IntelligenceStudents must complete a minimum of 2 courses from the following: CSCI 4170/6170 - Introduction to Computational InvestingCSCI 4380/6380 - Data MiningCSCI(ARTI) 4530/6530 - Introduction to RoboticsCSCI 4560/6560 - Evolutionary Computation and Its ApplicationsCSCI(ARTI) 4600/6600 - Reinforcement LearningCSCI 4850/6850 - Biomedical Image AnalysisCSCI 4860/6860 - Computational NeuroscienceCSCI 4900/6900 - Special Topics in Computer Science* *Subject to prior approval. The special topic must be related to artificial intelligence. Special considerations: If a student fulfills all of the requirements for the Area of Emphasis in Artificial Intelligence, then the following courses are NOT required, even if they appear elsewhere under major requirements for the major in Computer Science: CSCI 4720 - Computer Architecture and OrganizationCSCI 4050/4370 - Application DesignCSCI 4730/4760 - System DesignThe student must still fulfill all other major requirements.
