The School of Computing at the University of Georgia invites applications for two new open tenureD/TENURE-track positions starting fall 2025. School of Computing is conducting an open search for two positions. With the UGA Athletic Association Professor, the school is looking to recruit an internationally renowned researcher and educator. We are interested in a background in Data/information/scientific visualization or related areas like Computer Graphics, Human-Computer Interfaces (HCI), or Natural Language Processing/Interfaces. This position is part of a new cluster that includes the School of Computing, the School of Arts, the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, and the English Department. As the senior anchor position within the cluster, it is expected that the candidate takes leadership in the development of a multidisciplinary research agenda and academic programming, to include new degree programs. Applicants should have at least 12 years of Professional Experience conducting computing research and education. The second position involves a collaboration with the Department of Geology for an Assistant/Associate Professor position. The position will be 75% in the School of Computing and 25% in Geography. We are seeking candidates with a background or interest in Geospatial and/or Spatio-temporal Data Analytics (including GeoAI), Visual Analytics, Edge Computing, or Physics-based AI Models, and their applications to remote sensing such as developing innovative remote sensing methodologies for modeling and information synthesis, multi-source data fusion, or visualization.
